Troubleshooting: Billing Issues
This page covers common billing-related issues and how to resolve them.
"Total price exceeds balance remaining"
This is the most common billing error. It means your monthly budget has been fully used and there is no remaining balance to charge for new impact.
How to fix:
- Go to the Setup page in the 1ClickImpact app
- Increase your monthly budget to a higher amount
- Save and approve the updated subscription in Shopify
Once the new budget is approved, impact will resume on new orders. Alternatively, you can wait for your billing cycle to reset automatically (typically every 30 days).
Billing only applies to non-free-tier impact
Your free tier includes 100 trees and 10 lbs of ocean waste at no cost. Billing only begins after those free allocations are exhausted. If you are still within the free tier, no charges are applied to your Shopify account.
You can check your free tier usage on the Home page in the app.
Credits from cancelled orders
When an order is cancelled or refunded, the impact cost associated with that order is credited back to your budget. These credits are applied automatically and reduce your usage for the current billing cycle. There is no action needed on your part.
If you are seeing unexpected charges or billing behavior, check your budget and billing cycle dates on the Setup page. Most billing issues are resolved by adjusting the budget amount.
