Getting Started

How does 1ClickImpact work? 1ClickImpact connects to your Shopify store and automatically triggers environmental impact with every order. You choose what impact to make (plant trees, remove ocean plastic, capture carbon, plant food trees, or donate to causes), set your monthly budget, and we handle the rest. Customers see their impact at checkout and receive email certificates with live tracking.

Is it really free to start? Yes. Every new store gets 100 free trees and 230 plastic bottles removed (10 lbs of ocean waste) at no cost. No credit card is required for the free tier — though Shopify does require an active billing subscription to track usage. You won't be charged until your free allocation is exhausted.

How long does setup take? About 2 minutes. The setup wizard walks you through choosing your impact categories, setting your budget, and enabling widgets. No code required.

Do I need a Shopify Plus plan? No. 1ClickImpact works with all Shopify plans. The checkout extension works on any plan that supports checkout extensibility.


Pricing & Billing

How much does it cost? There are no monthly fees. You only pay for the impact you make:

  • Plant a tree: $0.40
  • Plant a food tree: $0.60
  • Remove ocean waste: $0.60/lb
  • Capture carbon: $0.40/lb
  • Donate to a cause: $0.10 processing fee per $1 donated

How does billing work? All charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice. You set a monthly budget cap (minimum $5/month) and you'll never be charged more than that amount. Usage is tracked automatically.

What happens when I hit my budget? Impact stops triggering for the rest of the billing cycle. You'll receive an email notification (unless disabled). Your budget resets automatically each billing cycle, or you can update it anytime from Setup.

Are customer add-on products charged to me? Customers pay for the add-on products at checkout (e.g., $0.80 for 2 trees). The impact cost is then billed to you through Shopify and deducted from your monthly budget. Since the customer already paid the same amount, it's a net-zero cost to you.

What if I cancel an order? Impact is automatically cancelled and the cost is added as credits to your account. Credits are applied to future billing charges before Shopify is charged.


Impact & Tracking

Is the impact real and verified? Yes. All impact is delivered through verified global non-profit partners. Every tree planted, every pound of ocean waste removed, and every pound of carbon captured comes with a trackable certificate. You can see exactly where your impact happens. What are live planting sessions? Food tree impacts include live planting sessions where you can watch trees being planted in real time. Living session details and Google Meet links are present in the tracking details.

Do customers get notified? Yes. Customers automatically receive branded email notifications with their impact details, downloadable certificates, and live tracking links. You can also add impact info to your Shopify shipping confirmation emails.

Can I see my total impact? Yes. The dashboard shows your total trees planted, ocean waste removed, carbon captured, and donations made. You can view daily trends, individual customer records, and certificate history.

What is the public impact profile? A dedicated page at 1clickimpact.com/profile/your-store that showcases your store's total environmental impact. You can share it with customers, on social media, or link to it from your website. It updates automatically.


Widgets & Customization

What widgets are available? 1ClickImpact includes widgets for your cart, product pages, checkout, thank-you page, order status page, footer, and more. All widgets are drag-and-drop from the Shopify theme editor — no code needed.

Can I customize the widget appearance? Yes. Every widget supports custom colors, text, icons, positioning, font sizes, and border styles. You can match them to your brand directly from the theme editor.

What languages are supported? Widgets, checkout extension, and impact emails are available in English, Spanish, French, German, and Dutch. Measurement units can be set to imperial (lbs) or metric (kgs).

Can customers choose their own impact? Yes. You can create add-on products that customers add to their cart — extra trees, ocean cleanup, carbon capture, or donations. These appear as line items and can be auto-fulfilled as digital products.

Does it work with Zapier? Yes. Connect 1ClickImpact with 5,000+ apps through Zapier to trigger impact from form submissions, CRM events, and more.

Is there an API? Yes. Full REST API documentation is available at docs.1clickimpact.com. You can create impact, track certificates, and integrate with custom workflows.

What is the climate badge? A verified sustainability badge you can embed anywhere on your website — product pages, footer, about page, or checkout. It updates automatically as your impact grows. Get yours at 1clickimpact.com/integrations/badge.

Do you offer custom branded emails? Yes — free for all merchants. Contact our design team and we'll create custom impact emails that match your brand.

Can I pause impact? Yes. You can pause and resume impact anytime with one click from the setup page. While paused, no impact is triggered and no charges are made, including customer add-on products.
