Free Impact Tier
Every new store that installs 1ClickImpact gets a free allocation of environmental impact. This lets you try the app and start making a difference before any billing kicks in.
What's included
Every new store receives:
- 100 free trees planted through verified reforestation partners
- 10 lbs of ocean waste removed (approximately 230 plastic bottles)
This free impact is available immediately after you complete the setup wizard.
While the free tier covers trees and ocean waste, the Shopify billing subscription is still required during setup. Shopify needs an active subscription to track usage. You won't be charged until your free allocation is exhausted.
How the free tier works
As your store triggers impact, the free tier is consumed first:
- Each tree planted uses one of your 100 free trees
- Each pound of ocean waste removed uses your free ocean waste allocation
- Other categories (food trees, carbon capture, donations) are billed normally from the start since they are not included in the free tier
Tracking your free tier progress
You can see how much of your free tier remains on the Home page of the 1ClickImpact app. The progress display shows:
- How many free trees you've used out of 100
- How much free ocean waste removal you've used out of 10 lbs
- An estimate of when your free tier will be exhausted based on your current order volume
After the free tier
Once your free trees and ocean waste allocation are fully used:
- Regular pricing applies — trees cost $0.40 each, ocean waste costs $0.60/lb
- Charges appear on your Shopify bill — usage is recorded against your monthly budget
- No interruption — the transition is seamless, impact continues without any action from you
If you also have credits (from promotions or bonuses), those are applied before Shopify billing charges begin.
Frequently asked questions
Does the free tier expire? No. Your free allocation remains available until it's used up, no matter how long that takes.
Can I get more free impact? The free tier is a one-time allocation for new stores. After it's used, regular pricing applies. Check your email for occasional promotional credit offers.
Do customer add-on products use my free tier? No. Customer add-on products are paid for by the customer and do not consume your free tier allocation.
