Troubleshooting: Impact Not Triggering

If orders are going through but no impact is being recorded, check these common causes in order.

1. Trigger mode set to Pause

If your trigger mode is set to Pause, no impact will be triggered on any order.

How to fix:

  1. Open the 1ClickImpact app
  2. Go to Setup
  3. Check your trigger mode — if it says Pause, switch it to your desired mode (Per Order, Per Product, Customer Choice, or Fixed Monthly)
  4. Save your changes

2. Budget exceeded

When your monthly budget has been fully used, no new merchant-funded impact is triggered until the billing cycle resets.

How to fix:

  1. Check the Home page in the app to see your current budget usage
  2. If the budget is maxed out, go to Setup and increase your budget
  3. Approve the updated subscription in Shopify

3. Order below minimum order value

If you have set a minimum order value in your trigger settings, orders below that threshold will not trigger impact.

How to fix:

  1. Go to Setup and check if a minimum order value is configured
  2. Lower the threshold or remove it if you want all orders to trigger impact

4. App connection issue

In rare cases, the connection between 1ClickImpact and your Shopify store may need to be refreshed. This can happen after a Shopify update or if the app was recently reinstalled.

How to fix:

  1. Open the 1ClickImpact app in your Shopify admin
  2. If prompted, re-approve any permissions
  3. Try placing a test order to confirm impact is working

If the issue persists, contact our support team and we'll resolve it for you.

5. Free tier exhausted without billing subscription

If your free tier impact (100 trees and 10 lbs of ocean waste) has been used up and you have not approved a billing subscription, no further impact will be triggered.

How to fix:

  1. Go to Setup in the app
  2. Set a monthly budget and save
  3. Approve the Shopify billing subscription when prompted

Once the subscription is active, impact will resume on new orders.
